This is a new feature. The social bookmarks feature allows our users to bookmark threads in the message board on popular bookmarking sites such as Digg, Facebook, and Twitter. Social bookmarking sites are shown by default on the message board, when a member is signed in.

Cash for Clunkers

I have an old gas guzzler. I'm thinking that I might just buy a new car and get the great rebate. Has anyone bought a new car with cash for clunkers?

If so, any problem with financing? What did you buy?

Proposed Health Care Plan

There seems to be much discussion about health care. What is your opinion about health care? Do you really think the new plan will help us?

I think that the cost will be high. Not only will our kids have to pay the costs in the future, our seniors will suffer because of reduced health care, due to the need to reduce the cost.

Avatars

Avatars are the pictures that show up under your username when you post on the message boards. These pictures are an easy way to connect with other people on the board and can help to give a more personal feel; however, they are NOT required.

If you are interested in adding an avatar to your message board profile, simply click on the Control Panel link located in the top right, below the Kozersky Stamp Co. banner. The avatar picture option is about ten lines down on the edit profile page. Your avatar can come from a picture on the internet or from your computer. Place the URL of the image in the box provided or click on the Upload an avatar from your computer link to search for the image on your computer.

NOTE 1: Unless you are the one managing your internet picture, youre better off using a picture on your computer. Reason - if the picture is moved on the internet, its possible your avatar will disappear. If you really like the picture on the internet and you dont have it on your computer, you can always right click (with a PC) or hold down the control key and click (with a Mac) on the internet picture and save the picture to your computer.

NOTE 2: The avatars will display best if they are 100 pixels by 150 pixels (or a ratio of 2:3) or smaller. There are many different picture editing software products that you can use to crop excess picture (background) and resize (preferably only to shrink if you enlarge your picture will be of lesser quality). If you do decide to play with your pictures and arent really sure how to use these software products save an extra copy of your original picture somewhere so if it gets ruined you can start over. Remember the undo command is our friend. =)

Editing/Deleting Posts

So you've just spent 10 minutes writing a very elaborate post, when you realize you spelled the name of the person you're replying to wrong. How embarrassing! Well...not really.

Simply go to the bottom right corner of your post and click "edit," make your changes, and submit it again. If all else fails, you can also delete your post down in that same bottom right corner. The system will check to make sure that you really want to delete your post - just push "OK" and you're free from embarrassment for another day.

Username Registration

The William J Kozersky Stamp Co. Message Boards may be viewed by anyone, but if youre wanting to contribute to the discussions, you will need to register for a username.

Usernames are very easy to get. Simply click on the Forums listed right above this post. It will bring you back to the main forum page. Click the "register" link located in the top right, below the Barix Clinics Connection banner. The only required information is a username (i.e. BlueFlower, Sue, Green4Life, etc), a password, and a valid email address*, but feel free to add any other information you feel comfortable giving. Click the "Submit" button on the bottom of the form.

Once you submit your username a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided. You will need to confirm your account before you will be able to participate in discussions.

Beijing Olympic Stamps

Good day.
On July 14, 2001 my father was in Hong Kong and purchased a complete set of stamps issued by the Hong Kong Postmaster General to celebrate the decision that the 2008 Olympics would be held in Beijing.

There are several sheets of stamps of several different stamps in a folder, a set of four stamped envelopes, and a copy of the South China Morning Post for that day. The one set of sheets of stamps is in a protective cover and has three different denominations, 1.30 (Hong Kong), .80(China), and 1.00(Macau).

The other two sheets of stamps are separate, and look like regular Hong Kong postage stamps commemorating the decision to have China host the games. All of this is in the original Hong Kong Post Office bag.

We just found all of this behind the china (sic) cuppoard in his dining room and wonder if there is any value to stamp enthusiasts.

Is anyone familiar with this issue? Any opinions on value or what we should do with them?

Boys Town Spring Seals

Did you know that Boys Town also distributed seals in the Spring? These seals known as "Boys Town Special Spring Seals" were released the following years: 1951, 1952-59, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1967, and 1976. The only dated sheet in this series is the 1951.

ATA Membership?

Is anyone a member of the American Topical Assn. (ATA)? I have been a member for quite awhile. I have found their monthly Journal to be a great source of information regarding Topical Collecting.

Another great benefit of the ATA is the topical lists. The lists are available to both members and non-members. The ATA can be accessed online, and information regarding the purchase of the topical lists can be found there.

Marks on First Day covers

I am a fairly new collector and I started collecting first day covers and associated stamp issues from Canada Post. I have started buying some older covers and have a question about marks on them.
The first and most common are pencil notations regarding price or catalogue numbers etc. I am wondering if it is better to leave the pencil marks on or try to erase them. I have a bit of experience in graphic design, so I can remove the marks fairly well, but of course the indentations from the pencil will remain. My preference is to remove them, but what does the current market prefer?

I also just picked up an old cover that had an address label on it. When I touched the label, it peeled off and left a nice yellow stain on the cover. Can anything be done about that?
